Have you ever just been in the mood to create? I mean just dying to dream up something you love. I feel like we’ve all been there at one time or another. For me, it seems to be a daily thing especially lately. I keep creating and dreaming new things. It’s anything from a way to display mugs on our coffee bar to creating our own coffee house. It’s kinda crazy, guys. In the midst of all this dreaming I kept coming back to my fashion blog. Admittedly it’s not much of a blog since I hardly ever kept up with it. For me, it was a way to express my creative thoughts. An outlet if you will. Turns out it was a really unsuccessful outlet in the terms of followings and growth. So, because I’m a people pleaser I was bummed with what I had. I lost interest, didn’t have time, and all together dropped the ball on my very on blog (how could I!). So in the midst of lack of inspiration and creativity boredom I looked at my blog again and I thought to myself, “What is this missing.” Now no offense to the fashion bloggers of the world (AtlanticPacific, I love you) I’m just tired of seeing everyone’s outfits. I get it, you’re perfect and put together and you always look amazing but I’m over it. These thoughts led me to realize what I want and what our world needs is some authenticity. I just want to relate to people! I want to know I’m not alone when I haven’t vacuumed my house in literally two weeks. I want to know I’m not crazy for being ridiculously excited about The Walking Dead premiere. You guys, I just want some realness. But not just from others. I want to be 100% real myself. I think there is beauty and vulnerability in growth.
So that’s how this site began. It’s just a website of our lives. By our lives I mean my sister’s (Jourdan) and mine. I still love fashion, and throwing parties and just about anything that has glitter on it. But more than that I love my life. Sometimes it sucks. Sometimes it’s hard. Sometimes I want to celebrate small victories. So that’s what we’re doing. We’re being real here guys! If we happen to help a few people along the way we would be more than satisfied with this creative endeavor.
So there you have it. That’s the goal behind Jourdan & Olivia. A couple sisters learning, growing, and celebrating their way through life. We’d love for you to join us.
Much Love -Olivia
